2008 & 2009 Competitions

The Alaska Marketplace competitions take place over 17 month periods, beginning with a call for proposals, culminating with an award ceremony and ending 12 months later when the innovative ideas have been implemented.

Short, simple 2009 Innovative Idea Applications are due January 15, 2009. The innovators with the most promising proposals will become finalists and will receive entrepreneurial training and implementation coaching to refine their concepts.

Each finalist will prepare an implementation plan. The Competition Event will be held in the Sping, when the finalists will present their plans at the Alaska Marketplace where a world-class jury of experts will award seed money to each of the most promising ideas. A group of private and public sector professionals will evaluate the proposals.
